Background
A mason jar factory in Ghana reached out to Minghang for help in solving continuous problems of lid leaks in their custom mason jars. The clients spoke of spills and loss of freshness which led to returns that had increased in number and also, there was a lack of trust in the product. The factory was in need of a solution that would guarantee airtight and long-lasting lids for their custom jars.
Challenges
The principal issues were the uneven surfaces of the rims of jars, the poorly done threading, and the low quality of the gaskets. These issues led to lids that were loose and as a result, leaks were created and the safety of the stored products was compromised. The ways in which standard productions were carried out were not enough for the handling of these custom specifications.

Precision Mold Adjustments
Minghang modified the molds of jars to have even rims and also the threading was uniform. This made it possible for the lids to be placed firmly and they could be tightened thus, the usual problems of misalignment were solved.

Results
