Client Background

Minghang, being a professional hot sauce bottle vendor, was contacted by a Spain, based hot sauce brand that is famous for premium chili blends and their products are sold all over Europe. Challenge

Cause Analysis

The technical department of Minghang performed pour tests, structural examination and determined the essence of the issues:

• The inside neck was too smooth and the sauce stuck and clung back.
• The depth of the mouth of the bottle was not a perfect fit to the chosen flow restrictor, which decreased efficiency.

Solution

Neck Geometry Redesign

We turned in the inner lip angle and put in a micro-drip edge to cut the flow of liquids after pouring.

Optimization of Component Compatibility.

The Minghang confirmed the mouth tolerances and experimented on various options of the insert to provide a stable flow across all batches.

Result

The number of dripping problems decreased by more than 80 percent, complaints by consumers declined and repeat orders were made.
