A well-known Korean food company, which is famous for its premium Ready-to-Eat Bibimbap and Kimchi Jajiga, aimed at expanding its product line with home-use packaging solutions. They wanted Custom Glass Lunch Box that could be doubled as glass lunch containers' services-especially, 800 ml rectangular boxes with 3-complex designs, heat-resistant glass and BPA-free silicon seal. The goal was to align with their "eco-friendly, re-purpose" brand ethos, so they changed us to prepare the right glass lunch box.
Our Challenge
The customer's design presented three major issues. First, the 3-compartment divider, made of the same glass, easily cracked during temperature tests (from the fridge to microwave). Second, the silicon seal did not fit tightly, leaving the box tilted. Third, the corners of the box were very fast, making it uncomfortable to catch and was prone to chipping. These flaws threatened to reduce the reputation of the brand for the practicality and quality of the product.

Root Cause Analysis
Our team indicated the problems: Glass divider was very thin (2 mm) to handle thermal shock, causing cracks. The dimensions of the silicon seal were slightly closed because the lid mold was not responsible for the expansion of the glass. The sharp corners, a result of rigid mold design, lacked the reinforcement needed to resist impact. All issues stemmed from mismatched material specs and mold calibration, not the core concept.

Result
Final Glass Lunch Boxes meet all requirements: divider saved from thermal tests, seal prevented the leak, and the goal corners improved the purpose. The customer ordered 50,000 units, which was launched with his ready-to-Eat food. Customers praised the predominance and environmentalism of the box, with 70% reporting they reused them daily.
